JENNIFER BURTON, SENIOR IMAGE CONSULTANT.

Jennifer Burton attended the acclaimed Art Institute of Chicago. She majored in Fashion Design, with a minor in Business Management. Early on, Jennifer distinguished herself in the field of fashion by starting a successful ready-to-wear clothing line. After years of growth and development, her clothing line, SweetTruth, emerged to fill an underrepresented segment of the population with flattering and versatile styles. The line featured flattering knits and was known for its use of bold colors.

In 2008, Jennifer decided to postpone current production of the line as it was clear that SweetTruth’s customers—boutiques across the country—were being hit hard by the growing recession. She decided it was time to put her fashion background, intimate knowledge of trends and style, and entrepreneurial know-how to good use. Thus JBSTYLES was born.

In many ways, a career in consulting was an organic process for Jennifer. Friends, clients and complete strangers would comment on her outfits and accessories or simply voice their frustrations with being unable to successfully coordinate their clothing styles..

At the same time, Jennifer began noticing a recurring theme with her friends, family and clients, as they would stare into their closets, often full of clothes, and mutter in frustration “I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!” This is how the concept of ‘shopping your closet’ was born. Jennifer has counseled women all over the country regarding how to look at their closet and wardrobe in a different light, and with fresh eyes. JBSTYLES believes that you do not have to have a lot of money or even a lot of time to look stylish. You simply have to know yourself and invest in the initial foundation pieces and the rest of your wardrobe will fill in around this solid foundation. As Jennifer always say’s ‘fashions fade, but style is eternal’.

Recognizing a niche opportunity, Jennifer started brainstorming, and two years later she now has one of the more successful wardrobe and image-consulting firms in Chicago.
